International Women’s Day @ Artivistas Gallery

My agent invited me to exhibit at a beautiful gallery in Paris - Artivistas.

Artivistas was founded and is managed by Paula Forteza (art information here, political information here).

Our International Women’s Day show “In Her Room” featured 3 fantastic trans women and myself, as the 4 female artists exhibiting for two weeks.

Here are some of the wonderful images of the show below!

It was beautiful, colourful, and very very much in honour of Frida Kahlo and the kind of energy she would have emitted, if she had shown some of her work at Artivistas!

  • Reflect: This was the second time I exhibited in this gallery, and it was an honour to be asked to come back! In addition, we had a huge amount of people and press, so that was wonderful. There were things to be improved upon - of course. I was still much too last minute in my preparations, and I do not want to feel so much stress before shows in the future. I think it will be unavoidable, now and then, but this is definitely something I would like to improve upon. Also, it would be fantastic if more art collectors and buyers came to these events! As an Artist this time, and not as a Curator or Manager, I did not manage invitations, aside from inviting all of my friends (of course), so that was a learning for the others, but also interesting to take not. Last time in 2024, we sold almost all of my pieces within the first two hours. It was great!

  • Plan: Have a clearer idea of what I want to create for upcoming shows, and how to go about it, in order to better prepare, and bring stress levels down. The adrenalin is useful, but the heart rate could do with some management, so that I don’t have a heart attack several decades too early! - Looking back on this blog entry in August 2026, I am proud to say that all of the shows after March were MUCH better anticipated .

  • Act: I should put in place a month newsletter. - Looking back on this blog entry in August 2026, I still need to do this, but now I have even more fantastic content, so I shall do it!

  • Observe: If I compare March 2026 to December 2025 (Good Rice) and Summer 2025 (Clarins) and all of the shows in 2023 and 2024 (Pride House, Olympics, etc), there has been a huge improvement. The professionalisation of my practice, presentation, and preaching (just wanted to write three P’s) i.e. communication, has greatly improved as an Artist. As we say in French, “ j’assume ! ”

Stay tuned for even more exciting feminist work!
