The most exciting part of the research for this Unit 2 paper isn’t actually the writing itself - it is the hours and hours of discovering new things and new artists - neither of which are new, just new to me - which then leads to actual new ideas, for new pieces that only I can make, with the thought patterns and lived experiences that I have had… That is deeply exciting.

Some of the new pieces I have seen are so refreshing that I find myself questioning everything about my practice, which is a good thing.

Why am I only limiting myself to drawing, painting, and the occasional installation?

Who says I can’t make a film, sculpt with bronze, finetune glass, or indeed invent a whole new world, in a whole new medium?
