Looking back on this in August… is very funny.

The initial plan was just to go and see Bobby Dowler at his show.

I then met the Vie Projects teams, and we got talking.

I then proposed that we do a show there, and see how to get as many of the class involved as possible, despite not having full curation control over the final choice of artists.

It was fun.

Looking back on it, so many learning points though.

  • Focus on neutral partners and spaces who fully share my vision, which was 99.99% the case!

  • Make sure to eliminate any imbalanced sets of energy between partners or participants

  • Have someone manage social, before - during - after, so that curators and artists can focus on the Art

  • Have someone manage sales too, in addition to the curator, in order to truly conclude those deals

  • I think the brands and catering were just fantastic, and we could have found more funding earlier, but everyone who joined was just amazing

  • Last but definitely not least, test my insane installation ideas before launching them - we were lucky everything worked out! That could have been risky. Proud of us all.

Watch this space (literally), more to come with them.
