My first 5K
Still in Geneva, I had a wave of motivation.
Why not do something that I had never, ever done before?
Inspired by several people around me, I decided to go running for the first time.
In addition, I also wanted to push myself as far as possible the first time, so I kept going until I got to 5K.
Maybe next time, I can push through until 10K, then one day… even do a marathon or thiathlon?!
Now, this is bearing in mind that I get our of breath running up the stairs or for a bus, usually.
Had a few thoughts while doing the 5K.
Running is such a strange thing to do, let’s be honest.
Especially on a treadmill. Happy hamsters going around their wheels.
I love cycling, climbing, swimming, hiking, another outdoors, so why not running?
Any good excuse to escape into nature, I will take it. Perhaps I can make running a thing.
The key is consistency, just like art. I really want to get into good habits this year.
Also - The endorphins released by the running definitely had a positive effect.
So that’s good. I felt inspired to get illustrating!
Mindful, hungry, generous… Driven, kind and consistent.
It’s interesting how I have always found it more intuitive and automatic to draw male anatomy, isn’t it?
The following illustrations from the ART IN CONTEXT talk inspired me for my final illustration of the evening…
